SafeBeacon - Prevent runway incursions

October 2009

SafeBeacon is a system in order to preventing runway incursions. When an aircraft crosses the stopbar without clearance, an alarm will follow immediately. The alarm breaks through all other communication in relevant channels around the aircraft and also in the control tower. This will give everyone a rapid notice that something is wrong, creating the opportunity to take actions to avoid runway incursions or accidents. SafeBeacon is easily connected to the detecting sensor. No additional drilling and backfilling is needed. It can be placed and programmed for each airport’s specific need.

By installing a system like SafeBeacon your airport traffic does not need to be dependent on:

- Breakdown in communications

- Pilot factors

- Air Traffic Control factors

- Airside vehicle driver factors

SafeBeacon is a solution that works with the total system but without disturbing the overall operations.
