GOS - Increased gate utilisation

The Gate Operating System serves as an invaluable complement to the Safedock® Advanced Visual Docking Guidance System by networking all Safedock systems to provide real-time gate status and monitoring capabilities that minimise disturbances and interruptions at the gates.

The system incorporates visual guidance of each aircraft ensuring it gets to the right gate, and central monitoring ensuring that everything goes according to plan. Pilots are effectively guided to the correct position at the gate. Once the aircraft is in its correct position the loading and unloading process can be carried out quickly and safely.

Aircraft can be redirected on short notice for various reasons, technical problems or human errors. If the pilot does not find the new gate destination fast, the aircraft will block traffic with long delays. Such problems can be avoided if traffic control has an overview of the airport stand status; an overview allowing them to monitor all activities and make last-minute changes without having to wait for the marshaller.

With GOS airport staff gets a better overview and can monitor every event as well as perform centralized maintenance of the docking system. Not only does the GOS information make gate allocation easier, the overall performance of the airport ground operations is affected positively with gates utilized at their best.

Automatic or manual
The GOS can be run automatically or manually. Safedock® can be started from the operator panel at the gate, from the GOS or from the airport's central system, i.e. the FIS.

Benefits of using Safedock with GOS:
- reduced staff resources
- shorter turn times
- reduced operational costs
- reduced damage risks
- more effective planning
- lower costs
- higher productivity
- enhanced safety
